LARKANA: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar visited district courts in Larkana and held meetings with judges, lawyers and litigants on Saturday.
Justice Nisar witnessed Court proceedings, inspected case files, observed court procedures and heard in detail grievances of people and hardships faced by the litigants and lawyers and facilities extended to them in court premises.
He also visited judicial lockup and heard complaints and issues of under trial prisoners. He analysed the overall performance of district ju
diciary and prosecution services, while he also showed displea
sure over absence of prosecution lawyers in cases.
The CJP directed judges to decide cases quickly in accordance with law and asked lawyers to appear in cases regularly and avoid undue and frequent adjournments so that cases can be decided in time and prompt relief can be extended to the litigants parties.
Taking notice of the issue, he asked the Chief Justice Sindh High Court and Registrar to take action against the incompetent judges in accordance with law so as to ensure speedy justice to pe
ople.
Moreover, during his visit to court, some people met the CJP and complained that their relatives or family members are missing and their whereabouts are still unknown. Taking notice of the issue, the CJP summoned the Sindh Director General Rangers, Inspector General of Police, Provincial Heads of IB, ISI and MI tomorrow at 12 pm at Supreme Court Karachi registry.
Apart from that, the CJP also visited patients at Sukkur Government
Hospital, Chandka Medical College
Hospital (CMCH) and Shaikh Zayed Women
Hospital of Larkana and heard their complaints. He expressed his dissatisfaction over poor hygiene and cleanliness in the hospitals and directed the concerned administration of these hospitals to improve it immediately and address the complaints of patients so as to provide better health facilities to the poor needy patients.
During the visit of the hospitals, the CJP observed many deficiencies in the services rendered to general public and therefore, taking notice of the dearth of services to general public, the CJP has directed the Chief Secretary and Health Secretary to submit a detailed report about deficiencies and demands of hospitals.
Moreover, taking notice of excessive and unscheduled load shedding i
n hospitals, the CJP has directed WAPDA authorities to make hospitals free from load shedding so that patients can get better treatment.
After all these visits, CJP observed that the apathy of the government is evident and reflects poorly on the pathetic state of governance in the province. He observed that all government departments need to put their act together in order to provide relief to the general public and serve them in the best possible way.
The CJP expressed his anger over clo
sure of Collection Center, improper arrangements at laboratory and dysfunctional X-Ray machines. He directed the CMCH Medical Superintendent Dr. Ali Gohar Dahri to ensure availability of all essential medical facilities and supply of total medicines to the patients or stern action will be taken.
